Lee Chiao
Lee Chiao is one of Taiwan’s most influential writers, known for his realistic portrayals of ordinary lives. A graduate of Hsinchu Teachers College, he is best known for the Wintry Night Trilogy (1975–1980), which follows three generations through Japanese colonial rule and World War II, exploring themes of dignity, love, and resistance. His work has been widely translated, and he received the National Award for Arts in 2006.
